Blind dates are terrifying. Even with social media and the ability to research the person you're meeting, it's still one of the most nerve-racking experiences in the world. Why we put ourselves through the experience, I'll never know... but I am SO glad we did! I will never forget arriving late and standing at the door trying to gather the courage to walk in. When I finally made my way through the crowd and tapped him on the shoulder Jimmy immediately jumped up and gave me a hug! After a few minutes trying to talk in a loud and crowded restaurant, we decided to move next door to Starbucks. It was like best friends that had known each other for their entire lives catching up over coffee! We talked about sports, kids, family, work, changes in our lives, and almost anything else you could imagine. When Starbucks closed we weren't ready to say goodbye so we went for a walk in downtown Roanoke. At the end of the night, after impromptu chili and a ton of laughs, he walked me to my car. Since that night we have watched in awe as God has orchestrated our lives to bring us and our families together. There have been struggles and victories but there has never been a doubt that we are meant to spend our lives loving each other and serving God together. We believe He has plans for us and our family and we can't wait to become husband and wife and continue this amazing journey together!
