Bride

He's a good man Savannah!

I got his number back in 2020 when he and his family joined our church. However, it wasn't until Nov 2021, during just before my birthday dinner, that I reached out to send him an invite. Honestly, I do not know why I invited him (it was supposed to be an intimate dinner with friends) but I did. At this time, I would like the ladies and the gentlemen of the court to note that he didn't get me a present or a card, he signed on to the card Joan (his sister) had made for me. Looking back it was hilarious to me that Josh was even there at all that night, but we give God glory. Our conversations started picking up, through small banter at church (Oga was just complimenting me every Sunday) that lead to texting and eventually phone calls. From July through August the chemistry was building untillll he planned the cutest and sweetest date on September 2nd. He asked me to be his girlfriend. CHINEKE!!! I was jumping for joy in my heart, but as a fine girl I maintained my steeze (composure). I calmly told him, "I want to say yes, but I need to pray about it first." I supposed chop knuckle for this answer (I deserve a pat on the back for my response). I took the weekend to pray and the Lord gave my answer on September 4th 2022. It's necessary to note in our journey that we took time from October to December to pray and seek the Lord. We were serious about the relationship and wanted to make sure that it was in the will of God (me I no come this world to suffer). The prayers never stopped, leading up to February 6th 2025, we are still actively praying and committing ourselves to the Lord (as fine people wey love Jesus). Isaiah 43:18-19.

Groom

Friendship to Courtship

I was invited to a birthday dinner at Uncle Julios in DC November 2021. It was a number not saved in my contacts, I wondered who gave this person my number. An opportunity to celebrate a fellow youth, I didn't want to pass the chance. It was Kamsi Nebo. To this day she will tell you, I was invited because of my sister. My thoughts are she was interested in me from the start lol As months moved by I could see the genuine character, and sheer joy Kamsi brought with her every Sunday. I observed how well she lead with her spoken word poems. The imagery in her words felt so real. Kamsi's walk with the Lord showed in a very loud way. As the life of a party, our friendship developed very quickly. We made it a game of complimenting each other every Sunday. It was our way of saying "I see you". Summer 2022, I found the courage to trust the Lord. We started talking, our conversations went on for hours. Our first hangout was a chick fil- a, we were in the restaurant until it closed. Afterwards I made my intentions clear, I knew she was my rib. We made it official September 4th 2022. Shortly after we did GRM for those who may not know. Its basically a program that for 90 days we took time to seek the Lord about us and our future. It involved fasting and praying in that time period. It provided clarity and time for those initial butterflies to be still. In the 90 days we didn't communicate with each other. It was healthy. Our journey to each other has been wonderful. Courtship has been eyes opening for us. We have grown immensely. April 6th 2024 Kamsi became my fiancée! Now we are looking into February 6th 2025 to tie the knot! We are so grateful! Psalm 16:6 "The lines have fallen for me in pleasant places; indeed, I have a beautiful inheritance"
