The story began nearly 6 years ago. It was the summer of 2020 in the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, and everybody was forced to interact with those outside of immediate family through means of social media. As students of The University of Texas at Austin, there was a trending hashtag #WhosWhoAtUT that was being used as a means of introduction and connection with other students. With the hashtag, users posted four pictures of themselves along with their major, hometown, and one fun fact. Kamryn's post ended up on Tre'Von's twitter feed, and the rest was history. Tre'Von reached out to Kamryn, and they began communicating throughout the entire summer. They soon realized they had many similarities such as music taste and both being from the east/southeast region of Texas. From many exchanged text messages and FaceTime calls that would last hours -- sometimes until the sun came up -- Kamryn and Tre'Von quickly became enamored with one another. The day Kamryn moved back to Austin to begin her junior year, Tre wasted no time and immediately took her on their first date. The next couple of years were filled with love, laughter, and memories that the two will cherish for decades to come. In the spring of 2021, Kam and Tre both became members of the Divine 9 -- Kam, following in her mother's footsteps, joined the illustrious Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated, and Tre became a member of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Incorporated. In May, Tre graduated with a B.S. in Psychology with a minor in Philosophy, and that summer, they got their dog (lovingly referred to as their son), Hndrxx. Following Kamryn's graduation in May 2022, Kam and Tre then moved to Houston to embark on their new journey post-college. They supported and motivated each other through the many transitions that come with adult life and never left each other's side. Through the setbacks and accomplishments alike, they knew without a shadow of a doubt that they would always have each other. This led to Tre's proposal in front of their family and loved ones on Thanksgiving 2024. If you ask Kamryn what she loves about Tre, she will say that it is his leadership and his ability to always make her feel safe and supported. If you ask Tre what he loves about Kam, he will say it is her nurturing spirit and her ability to always make him feel like nothing is impossible for him. They both will agree that their love for one another is the personification of 1 Corinthians 13:4-8. We cannot wait to celebrate with you all on June 20th as we officially become Mr. and Mrs. McCowin!
