We met in San Antonio through a mutual friend, who introduced us during a casual get-together. It was one of those moments where everything just clicked. We spent the evening chatting and laughing, discovering common interests and shared sense of humor. What started as a simple introduction quickly turned into something much more special. Our connection felt effortless, and before we knew it, we were making plans to hang out again (Which of course was meeting her parents right away..), realizing that we had found something truly meaningful. ~ Nick
Although our love story is still in its early stages, we’ve already grown and nurtured a meaningful relationship, overcoming many challenges along the way. The most significant of these hurdles has been managing long distance—a situation we knew would arise given my service in the Air Force. Despite the difficulties, we chose to move forward with this relationship, and we’re so much better for it. Long distance taught us that communication must be the foundation of any strong marriage. To stay connected, we made every effort to spend time together. I often drove to Corpus Christi, Texas, on long weekends to visit her and her family. She flew to Alamogordo, New Mexico, so we could travel and explore together, and she came to Clovis, New Mexico, to help me pick out, move into, and decorate my first home—our first home. This relationship has shown us the vital role of communication in weathering life’s toughest moments. It’s also taught us the importance of making an effort, even when it’s inconvenient, to show up for each other every single day. ~Nick
Our wedding day marks a moment we’ve been dreaming about and working toward—a day that celebrates not just the love we share, but the journey we’ve traveled to get here. It’s a culmination of the laughter, the late-night calls, the miles traveled to see each other, and the countless little moments that brought us closer together. Our wedding day isn’t just a ceremony; it’s a reflection of the promises we’ve made, the challenges we’ve faced, and the bond we’ve built through it all. It’s a reminder of how far we’ve come and a celebration of everything we have to look forward to. Our wedding day is more than a milestone; it’s the start of a new chapter in our story, one that we’ll write together, side by side. This day is made even more special by the presence of all our beloved family and friends. Having each of you here means the world to us. You’ve been there through our ups and downs, cheering us on, offering love and guidance, and helping shape the people we are today. Knowing that we are surrounded by those who have supported, encouraged, and cared for us fills our hearts with immense gratitude. We are truly blessed to have all of you by our side to witness this important chapter in our lives. This day would not be complete without your love, your laughter, and your company, and we are forever thankful for the role each of you plays in our journey together. ~Nick & Kam
