An update on our wedding- Due to the current restrictions in Michigan, and the unknown that covid that brought with, we have canceled our indoor venue/wedding planned in April. We are planning to get married in Kam's hometown on May 7, 2021. This will be an intimate, small gathering at an outdoor venue. Due to the limited capacity at this new venue, we will be celebrating with our immediate families and some of Kam's family from the area. We are disappointed we will not be able to share our day with all of you like we had originally planned, and am so sorry for any inconvenience these changes may have brought. If anyone has any questions, please reach out to Nate or Kam.
Nate and I met at the beginning of his first semester at Central Michigan University through our roommates. My roommate at the time, Samantha, had a part time job as a driver for international students when they landed at the airport. One of those international students happened to become Nate's roommate for that semester. The first time Nate and I met in person, we set up a group date to go jogging. Ironically, neither one of us were very good at running, nor have we done much running together since. We gradually spent more and more time together watching movies, making dinner together, going out with friends. In November of 2012, we decided to begin exclusively dating each other.
We had planned a trip up to my family cottage in Leland, Michigan for the weekend. Nate had arranged for a special wine tasting at a local winery, Chateau Fontaine, and they allowed us to walk up into the vineyards. Nate proposed on the hill in between rows of grape vines. I said yes, and we celebrated by sharing our first glass of wine as an engaged couple.
Throughout our relationship, Nate and I have had plenty ups and downs. We have endured living apart and working on our relationship via long distance for almost three years now. It hasn't been easy, but we have continued to choose each other and to stay true to our goals. We have waited years to get married, and are both so excited for the next chapters in our lives together. Both of us want to say thank you to our family and friends who have loved and supported us through it all. We cannot wait to celebrate with you!
