FAQs

Question

What is the dress code/what should I wear?

Answer

The dress code is semi-formal and beyond, so if you have something nicer you've been looking for an excuse to wear, go ahead and wear it! No colors are off limits accept for pure white dresses (white with colored designs on it is perfectly fine, white shirts are perfectly fine). Feel free to wear black. If you want to dress in line with the theme, feel free, but not obligated. It is wild-flower forest garden party. Some more specific directions: - No jeans or denim - There will be a long walk from parking to the venue and some of this will be on a gravel road, wear comfortable footwear - Ties/jackets are optional - All dress shirts should have collar and buttons - Dresses of any length welcome

Question

What is this venue?

Answer

"The Octagon" where Halin and I will be getting married is my parents' and maternal grandparents' multi general home in Aurora. It is a beautiful naturally forested property with a long gravel driveway, so bring comfortable shoes you won't mind walking through dirt in!

Question

How do I get to the venue?

Answer

The house is relatively far from any major townships, so ride share will likely be expensive and unreliable in the area. Additionally, parking is limited and the later you arrive, the further you will have to walk to get to the venue. We recommend carpooling from hotels/homes in similar areas with designated drivers whenever possible.

Question

What if it rains?

Answer

The dreaded question... since we are getting married in the Pacific Northwest in mid-June, there is a non-zero chance that there will be rain. We encourage people to check the forecast for Aurora, OR before packing and to dress accordingly, as well as bring umbrellas and raincoats if necessary. In the event of rain, there will be tents as well as in door spaces to stay dry. It will be less than ideal but we'll make it work!
