Chance and Kamri met in the summer of 2020. They didn’t fall in love in a neat, grand way; they started as best friends! The kind of best friends who grow up together, date other people, pretend nothing is there, and somehow always find their way back to each other. They’ve known each other through awkward phases, first loves, heartbreaks, distance, and a lot of life. For years, the timing just never seemed right. There were too many reasons to wait, even though deep down it always felt like something was there. Chance and Kamri almost made their feelings official their freshman year of college in 2022, but Kamri chickened out.... Chance stuck around (though it felt a little awkward for several months after) and they continued catching up here and there or hanging out during breaks. Even through they both tried to "date" other people in college, it was never quite the same! No matter where life took them, they never fully left each other’s lives. They would go through seasons of constant talking and then quiet stretches, but every time they reconnected, it felt easy and familiar. When they finally slowed down and were honest with themselves (and each other), the feelings didn’t feel confusing anymore, they felt peaceful and right!!! Being together was comfortable, playful, easy, and full of laughter. It didn’t feel forced or rushed. It felt like home. The summer of 2025 rolled around and Chance and Kamri both still hadn't shook their underlying yet loud feelings. They became undeniable. Thank God Chance was bold enough to start that conversation again since the last time hadn't gone as planned! Because now they are here!! GETTING MARRIED!!! Faith played a huge role in our story. We prayed separately and together, asking God for clarity, patience, and guidance. Instead of pushing for answers, we learned to wait and trust. And in that waiting, God made things clear. What we found wasn’t just chemistry or nostalgia, it was a love built on friendship, trust, and shared values. The more we leaned into prayer, the more confident we became that this wasn’t something we were trying to make work, it was something God was already doing. When Chance proposed, it didn’t feel like a big shock. It felt right. It felt steady and sure. It felt like choosing someone who knows you deeply and loves you anyway. Our engagement isn’t just about the future we’re excited to build, it’s about honoring and reflecting on the years it took to get here! Our story is proof that God’s timing is better than our own, and sometimes the love you’re praying for has been walking beside you all along. We’re so excited to start this next chapter together, surrounded by the people who have loved and supported us through every season. We can’t wait to celebrate with you!!!!!!
