On Sunday, October 6th 2019 Nick and I got ready to celebrate our two-year anniversary. Nick had told me we were going to have a picnic on the dock at my parents and then go dinner at Rosalie's, a local Italian favorite in Skaneateles NY. We drove to my parents house and once we arrived, Nick grabbed his backpack from the backseat, which held towels for the dogs, since we knew they would swim, and his jacket. We got on the John Deere Gator and drove down to the lake. Once we parked and made our way to the dock, I realized that Nick was setting up two chairs on the dock that looked out across the lake, he told me to sit and to look straight ahead. While looking out across Otisco Lake, Nick pulled out a letter from his backpack. Nick then proceeded to tell me that this was a letter he had written to my parents asking for my hand in marriage. He told me he had gone over to their house and read them the letter a couple months prior. I couldn't believe it, and instantly burst into tears. At this very moment, I began to realize what was happening. Nick continued to read the letter to me while fighting back tears. Once he had finished the letter, he told me to stand up and look up at the deck which looked over across the dock.. When I turned around I saw my family, his family, and friends. Nick then pulled me in close, got on one knee and said, "This represents my dedication, commitment, and respect for you and our future family" while pulling out the most stunning, custom ring I had ever seen. We're getting married!
