Kami and Issiah met years ago, and had seen each other at mutual friends' parties for years. They had always noticed one another, but hadn't taken the time to get to know each other or were dating other people. There was even some friendly competition when they played a game against each other. In the summer of 2024, one of their mutual friends began playing matchmaker, saying that each found the other cute. That sparked their interest, and eventually they began to talk via social media. They bonded over their mutual love of beer and finally had their first date at Fieldwork Brewing in San Ramon. Sparks immediately flew as Kami saw how genuine Issiah was and how big of a heart he had, especially when it came to his family. Issiah saw how sweet and kind Kami was and how close to her family she was. This gelled well with Issiah's sense of familial importance. Kami and Issiah grew closer and closer over the initial year and a half they spent with each other, sharing weekends, holidays, and getaways together. What began as a birthday celebration for Issiah in Windsor soon turned into the happiest weekend of their lives. While relaxing at their hotel room, Issiah got down on one knee and proposed on January 9th, 2026. Issiah had initially planned to propose at Francis Ford Coppola's winery the next day. However, in the moment, Issiah had a spontaneous change of heart and knew this was the right time. Kami said yes and the rest is history. They couldn't be more excited for their big day on May 22, 2027.
