Benjamin and Kami met like many people do these days… on a dating app! Thank you, Hinge, the dating app that is meant to be deleted and obviously has been! Benjamin reached out to Kami on the app. They talked for a bit on the app and then started texting. Kami was very reluctant at first because she was nervous, and told him she didn’t think she would meet him. He told her that he was certain she was making a mistake by not meeting each other. After encouragement from her friends, she agreed to meet up with him. Benjamin and Kami had their first date a Page’s Ice Cream in Pittsburgh. Once they met, they hit it off right away. They started seeing each other more frequently and started dating a month after meeting. And now their journey continues…

Benjamin told Kami that his friend and photographer, Nate, wanted to give him a gift and take birthday pictures. Kami didn’t think much of it and agreed to it. All the while Benjamin was secretly planning something with Nate. Benjamin took Kami to his childhood home. They found a nice spot in the wooded area behind his house to take the pictures. After taking a few different pictures, Nate asked Kami to sit on a log while Benjamin stood behind her. It was at this point that Benjamin had pulled out the ring, but Kami had no idea. Nate asked Benjamin to try another pose and Benjamin said “something like this?” and got down on one knee and asked Kami to marry him. Kami said “no” (jokingly) at first because she was expecting a little speech. Benjamin reminded Kami that she only asked for two things! 1. He would get down on one knee and 2. That he asked her dad first. Benjamin had done both things! Nate encouraged Benjamin to tell Kami all the reasons he wanted to marry her and he did. Kami then said “yes!”
