Some love stories begin with a spark. Ours began with a gentle whisper—a quiet nudge from God, aligning two hearts long before we knew where the journey would lead. We were students at two different colleges in two different states—Alcorn State University and Nicholls State University—living separate lives, chasing our own dreams. But God had a plan. Through a mutual friend from grade school, our paths crossed. What started as light, casual conversations slowly bloomed into something more. We were both single, and though one of us was healing from heartbreak and the other simply open to something real, neither of us expected what was coming next. In the fall of 2019, our friendship grew into a refuge—an unexpected gift. We found peace in each other’s presence and comfort in our shared laughter. For her birthday that November, he planned our very first date. It was thoughtful, intentional, and full of quiet meaning. Something shifted that night—it felt as if time paused, and the future gently whispered, "This is the beginning." On Valentine’s Day 2020, we chose each other. What followed was nothing short of divine timing. In December 2021, we walked across the stage as graduates—marking a chapter closed and a new one opening. He stepped confidently into service as a school teacher, then as an alderman, and began building his real estate portfolio—turning vision into legacy. She pursued her calling in medicine, beginning PA school in 2023 and completing it in May 2025. One month later, she passed her board exam and accepted her dream role at the Children’s Hospital of New Orleans. Through it all, we lifted each other up, always believing in the purpose God placed within us. And then came the moment that changed everything. After her White Coat Ceremony, on April 26, 2024, he dropped to one knee—surrounded by family, covered in love, and anchored in prayer. In that sacred moment, we said yes to forever. Yes to purpose. Yes to promise. Yes to love. By May 2025, we bought our first home together, a space where dreams could live and legacy could grow. Through every season—college years, career building, quiet prayers, deep conversations, shared tears and overflowing joy—we have seen the hand of God at work. He has been faithful in every step, guiding us, shaping us, and preparing us for this moment. Today, as we stand before Him, our families, and our loved ones, we do more than just marry. We enter into a covenant. A divine union. A love story authored by grace, carried by faith, and sealed in forever.
