Kalyn and her roommate went out to enjoy live country music at the Par Lounge one Saturday evening in late July 2017. Kalyn's Perspective It was one of my first times at the Par Lounge. As most of you know I love to dance, so of course, I am dancing away having a wonderful time. Soon I am approached by the sweetest looking older man, with an almost bashful look on his face. I instantly connected with him, he began to explain that he had seen me dancing and that it was his Birthday, and he'd really like a dance with me. Of course, I said yes, nothing about his question was uncomfortable or creepy in the slightest, he just wanted a dance. We danced around for a few songs and swapped names as best we could through the very loud live music playing, he was intrigued by my name and asked me to spell it a couple of times. Both of us were ready for a break and more drinks so he thanked me for the dances, I replied, "Anytime, and Happy Birthday Warren!" We both returned to our seats. It was already turning into a fabulous evening. About 10 mins later I was approached by another slightly older gentleman who was full of smiles and compliments, he introduced himself as Buckley. He proceeded to tell me the young gentlemen in the corner had sent him over to buy me a drink. I vaguely remember looking in the corner for this younger dude he was speaking of, I didn't see him. Soon Buckley and I were somewhere between 3-5 pickleback shots deep, and I was pretty tipsy. It was about this time Stanley finally came over to introduce himself, I can remember him explaining he had sent Warren, and Buckley and bought the drinks. He ended up giving me his business card and I cant remember thinking how strange that was, is that just how people connected in the Country Estates? Lucky me, the only reason I was able to contact Stan the next morning was by finding his business card in my pocket. It's been nothing but cloud-nine since!
I will never forget that night even though it started just like any other Friday night as my Dad and I met up with some friends for dinner and drinks at The Par Lounge. We were sitting in the corner booth just about to order our drinks when all of a sudden I see this beautiful woman walk in with long legs wearing daisy dukes and cowboy boots. I really wanted to talk to her but I was way too shy, so I had to find a way to get her to notice me. After a couple of drinks, I see her and her friend get up and start dancing on the dance floor, so I thought this was the perfect time. I learned over to my dad and pointed her out and said, "go dance with her, tell her it's your birthday she can't refuse". My dad, being the great wingman that he is, agreed to the plan and started dancing with her. When the song ended Kalyn went back to the bar with her friend and my dad came back to the table. I said, "Dad you were supposed to bring her back here to the table and introduce us!" He said, "Just go buy her a drink!" but I was still too nervous to talk to her. So my next plan was to send Buckley up to the bar with my card and order all of us drinks and bring them back to the table for everyone to share. Well they never came back to the table so I figured I better go up there before Buckley spends all of my money. I finally muster up enough courage and walk up to her and introduce myself and said, "You know that old guy that you danced with that told you it was his birthday, that's my dad and it's not his birthday. I just needed an excuse to talk to you." She laughed and the rest is history.
