Just a few weeks after Kalyn moved home to Charlotte after eight years in LA, her friends talked her into downloading Hinge (again) to check out the Charlotte “meat market." Luke just so happened to be her first date in the Queen City. Little did she know…. that would be her last first date ever. Less than three months in, Luke agreed to go on a beach vacation with Kalyn’s family for a week (a move that would have sent any sane person running) but it turned out to be the trip that made them both realize: oh dang, this is for real. A year and a half after their first date, Luke proposed at Bald Head Island. Kalyn was truly surprised as evidenced by her appearance: no fresh mani, wearing a ball cap, and knockoff chacos. It was perfect. The beach has always been their place. These days you'll find them traveling, catching live music, quoting Bridesmaids at each other no fewer than three times a day (pins in my legs), going on adventures with Rosie while she chases every bird in sight, dancing in the kitchen after a few drinks, and consuming a truly staggering amount of reality TV. Somehow, a (very) reluctant Hinge re-download turned into the easiest yes of Kalyn’s life. They can't wait to celebrate with you!
