We're getting married!!

As you know, we have decided to move forward with a "minimony" in August and a reception to celebrate in May. We are deeply saddened by the challenges that the pandemic has caused, but we are grateful for everyone's health. We wish to invite you to be there with us virtually via a Zoom meeting. If you would like to Zoom with us, please reach out to either of us or our parents to let us know you would like to participate. We will need your email. If you have not used Zoom before, we are happy to help you learn before our wedding! Let us know what you need.

This certainly is not how we had imagined spending the months before our wedding. We have been so excited to share this event with you on the special day we had originally chosen. However, we have made the very difficult decision to postpone our wedding. Due to the uncertainty of this time, we felt it was best to place the health of our friends and family above all else. We want to be able to be with all of you without having anyone feel concerned for their health and safety. It is important that you are able to enjoy your time and relax while celebrating with us. We would have never imagined we would be faced with such a difficult decision, but we are so grateful for the amazing support we have received from all of you. Therefore, we will be holding our reception on May 22, 2021 at Greywacke Meadows. Hopefully by then, the world will have had time to heal, and we will be able to comfortably gather together without worry. We have had our hearts set on being married this year. Therefore, we will be holding a very small ceremony this August to be married; we just can't wait any longer. This is certainly not how we had anticipated our events going; please know that all decisions were made with your health and safety first. Nicholas and I are so grateful for your support and understanding during this difficult time. We can't wait to celebrate August's events with you in May. Nick and I had been working at the same camp while in college. I thought he was this "ghetto," jean wearing guy, and he thought I was a sassy, opinionated girl. He wasn't too far off the money, now was he? :) After a color war, a Panera chocolate chip cookie, and a budding friendship, we thought maybe this could be something...

Nick just couldn't wait anymore! After 5 fun-filled years, he decided to take the next step. In order to do so, he called upon many friends and family to make a beautiful video for the proposal. I'd say he must have been pretty confident that I'd say yes! Although he thinks the rain spoiled his plans of taking me out to my special tree in my parents yard, he was wrong. We were surrounded by friends, family, the rain, and so many candles!, when he asked for my hand in marriage. Of course, it was so dark out he couldn't tell that I had said yes... but eventually he figured it out through all of my tears. It couldn't have been more perfect.
