It was serendipitous. Matthew and Brittany happened to be in the same place at the same time. Brittany’s Saturday dinner plans were canceled last minute, so she decided to see some other friends instead. That same evening, Matt made last-minute plans for a relaxing night in with a friend. It just so happens that Matt and Brittany were going to hang out with the same friends, not knowing each other even existed. After a night of board games and late night diner food, Matt decided to ask Brittany on a date. Brittany and Matt realized they could be “the one” for each other on the first date. Matt brought Brittany to a wine bar followed by The Smith where they devoured mac and cheese — so clearly they fell in love right then and there. And after that, they shared countless laughs over ramen at 3:00 am, they celebrated birthdays with friends, brought a record-breaking 80 mcnuggets to a house party, and enjoyed their first summer together out east. Quarantining in a tiny Manhattan apartment only brought them closer together (literally and in love), and made their pandemic travels extra special. So Matt decided to make it all last forever. He asked Brittany to marry him in a way that she thought could only happen in a dream — he brought her to Blue Hill at Stone Barns where he got down on one knee and treated Brittany to the meal and experience of a lifetime. And now they are ready for a lifetime of love together!
