A Marriott property located only 2 miles from downtown San Juan Capistrano. It is a short drive to Doheny Beach and the Dana Point Harbor. Accommodations have a kitchenette, sleeper sofa and it is a nice property. Free continental breakfast. During the summer months there is a free trolley that stops here sponsored by the beach towns in the area. Parking is $18 per night. Pool on site.

An upscale Marriott property located 3.5 miles from downtown San Juan Capistrano. This is a stunningly beautiful property with jaw dropping views of Catalina Island, Salt Creek Beach and the ocean. Highly recommend drinks on the deck at sunset whether you are staying here or not.

Best Western Capistrano Inn
This is a more budget friendly hotel located about a 7-10 minute walk from downtown San Juan Capistrano to its many bars, restaurants, historic Mission and the Mission Basilica. If you choose to stay here, we highly recommend requesting their better rooms that do not overlook Highway 5 -- those rooms are noisy. Additionally, it should be noted that in summer months, the cheaper section of the hotel can get quite noisy with rowdy guests as well. It is best to splurge a little for the nicer section where the room numbers are in the 300's and 400's.

A more budget friendly hotel located about 4 miles north of San Juan Capistrano and easily accessible by Highway 5. We have never been to this hotel but it seems to be locate in a place that you would definitely need transportation to access anything. Fortunately, it is close to the highway for easy access.

This is a beautiful upscale hotel located on the beachfront in Laguna Beach. It is located about 9 miles from downtown San Juan Capistrano. In the summertime, the free trolley stops nearby and can transport you to downtown Laguna Beach.

This stunning upscale hotel is located in Dana Point about 4 miles from downtown San Juan Capistrano. The property has views of the ocean and access to the beach via the hotel's golf cart trolleys. There is also a golf course at this property.

This hotel is located in Dana Point and located about 4 miles from downtown San Juan Capistrano. While it does not have any views to speak of, it is within walking distance to Doheny Beach and the Dana Point Harbor.

This budget friendly hotel is located an easy 7 miles south of downtown San Juan Capistrano in the town of San Clemente. It is right off Highway 5 making it easily accessible. It is also not too far from downtown San Clemente, Fisherman's Wharf and the beach.

This basic hotel is located in San Clemente about 7 miles from downtown San Juan Capistrano. We stopped by for a peak and thought it was overpriced for what you get and understaffed. However, it is located not too far from downtown San Clemente and there is a nearby beach (no view from this hotel and VERY small pool).

This property is located about 8.5 miles from downtown San Juan Capistrano in the town of Laguna Beach. Traffic can be tough during the summer in Laguna but it is a fun area to stay at as well as beautiful. There is a lot going on in this area in the summer time. We have not been to this hotel.

This surf themed small hotel is located about 7.5 miles from downtown San Juan Capistrano in the beach town of San Clemente. It is located in downtown San Clemente so has many options for bars, restaurants and shopping. Fisherman's Wharf and the beach is less than a mile away. There are only a few rooms here and there is a great restaurant/bar above the hotel (same owner).

This budget friendly hotel is located about 8.5 miles south from downtown San Juan Capistrano in the town of San Clemente. The rooms are basic but appear to be clean and have kitchenettes. It is within easy walking to Califia Beach and a short drive to downtown San Clemente. It is located right off Highway 5 so is very accessible.
