If you are staying in East Nashville near our Wedding venue, Emerson Hall, you will fit in as one of the ‘locals’. You will find a lot of bars, breweries, restaurants, and coffee shops around here and just along the same road as our venue. Our favorite spots are Up Down (barcade), The Pharmacy Burger, and Smith & Lentz for a hot honey pepperoni pizza and a beer (this is a brewery)! You can click the link for a guidebook of recommendations.
If you are interested in being a true tourist! Our favorite spots are The Honky Tonk at The 12/30 Club, Prince’s Hot Chicken, and of course bar hopping your way down broadway! A little something for the kids: The Adventure Science Center The Rivers of Tennessee Fountains in the Bicentennial Capitol Mall State Park is a collection of 31 geyser-like spray fountains. On hot days, visitors cool off by splashing in the water jets. Kallie’s Mimi used to take her here often on hot days for a picnic and to splash in the fountains when she was a little girl. The visitor center and Farmer’s Market is located here as well!
Centennial Park is a great location to wander through, have a picnic at, feed the ducks, and maybe even hear some music! With one mile of walking trails, gardens, a bandshell and beach volleyball courts, there is something for everyone to enjoy. Located in the center of the park, The Parthenon stands as a re-creation of ancient Greece, and is a popular place to take fun photos. There is even an art museum located inside!
We love taking our guests to 12 South to walk around and see all the street vendors and maybe grab a couple drinks while we wait for our table at our favorite brunch spot-The Buttermilk Ranch. We also recommend checking out Five Daughters Bakery and Jeni’s Ice Cream while you’re here!
If you are staying near us or want to live like a true local, this is the place to be! Our most favorite places are Cheekwood Botanical Garden-where we have lots of dates and got ENGAGED, and Bobbie’s Dairy Dip for some OG chocolate dipped ice cream and where Kallie’s great-grandparents would often take her for a sweet treat when she was little! We also recommend breakfast at the Loveless Cafe, and don’t forget to try the biscuits with ALL of the jams!
We love going to downtown Franklin to walk around and visit the antique shops and boutiques.
