We had both been hanging out with our friends at Kings University, where Zach still attends, when we ran into each other. Zach and his friends asked us if we wanted to go see a movie as a group. All of us climbed into his little white jeep (somewhat illegally) and drove to watch The Greatest Showman, and the greatest love story began.

After hanging out every day for a whole week, Zach bought tickets to the Ice Castles in Edmonton. They walked around there for a while but had eventually seen it all. Not wanting to go home just yet, The two sat in a Tim Hortons booth until 3 am, where then, Zach asked Kalli to be his girlfriend.

Scheming for over two months, Zach led Kalli to believe they would be planning a road trip together. When, in reality he had planned it already. During the reading break of his third year, they drove down the west coast of the United States. They went through Seattle, Oregon, and then finally California in 12 days. All the while seeing so many amazing views, and creating a million more memories. Zach then took Kalli on this "surprise date" Tuesday morning. He had booked a tour of Monterey Bay, California by helicopter. They climbed in, enjoyed the views, and when they landed Zach handed her a book in which he instructed her to read out loud. It was a book he created with pictures of them telling their story. Starting with "once upon a time..." and ending with "and he got down on one knee" at that point he said Kalli's full name, she turned and he asked her to marry him. Kalli cried, and said "no way" a lot before saying "YES!"
