Detroit Institute of Arts
If you've never been to the DIA before it's a must see! So much amazing art, and of course the infamous Detroit industry murals by Diego Rivera. We thought maybe this is where we could get married—but you try fitting 300 Greek people in there.
Belle Isle
Feel like going to a beautiful park? Frederick Law Olmsted (the same architect who designed Central Park and Prospect Park) also created Belle Isle. You can go swimming at the beach, or walk around and enjoy but make sure you check out the epic James Scott Memorial Fountain in the center.
Museum of Contemporary Art Detroit
Always worth a trip!
Greenfield Village
Feel like going back in time? Check out Greenfield Village and the Henry Ford Musuem.
Greektown Detroit
Can you come to a Greek wedding without going to Greektown? Up to you! So much good food (go to Pegasus and get saganaki and loukumathes) and then try your luck at Greektown Casino. Or just go to look at my friend Ellen's amazing mural that makes my whole Greek family proud <3
The BELT
If we have good weather (praying we do) go check out an outdoor alleyway filled with murals and good food/drinks. You will definitely find something you like there, and it's put together by Detroit based gallery Library Street Collective.
