FAQs

If you have questions other than what is listed here or on the other pages of the website, please reach out to the bride or groom directly.
Question

When should I RSVP by?

Answer

For guests traveling to Santorini, we ask that you RSVP ASAP but no later than June 1, 2022, so we can confirm headcount and F&B with the venue. For guests attending the Utah after-party reception in April, we ask that you RSVP by March 30, 2023.

Question

Are you registered? Where?

Answer

Yes, we are registered at Amazon. You can find our registry by visiting the Registry page of the wedding website or via amazon.com. For guests traveling to Santorini, please don't feel obligated to give us a gift. Your presence in Greece is gift enough :)

Question

What time should I arrive at the ceremony?

Answer

Please arrive promptly at the Santorini Gem before 5:00 pm EEST. Services will begin on the hour. For guests joining us virtually, please join the Zoom video call by 9:00 am MDT via the link on the Schedule page.

Question

Is there a dress code?

Answer

Please visit the Schedule page for event-specific dress.

Question

Wedding colors?

Answer

White, gold, and sage green.

Question

What's the weather like in Santorini?

Answer

October is possibly the best time to visit Santorini. Temperatures are between 65-80 degrees Fahrenheit (15-25 celsius) and mostly sunny. You can get some rain or a cloudy evening, but in general, it's shorts and t-shirt weather. When it gets dark we recommend a light jacket or hoodie that will also come in handy on the windy cliffs and boat rides.

Question

Can I bring a date?

Answer

If your invitation says "and guest," then yes. We look forward to meeting your +1.

Question

Are kids welcome?

Answer

For guests traveling to Santorini, if your invitation says "and family," then yes. The Santorini Gem does allow children under the supervision of their parent(s) or guardian. For guests attending the Utah after-party reception in April, your kids are most welcome :)

Question

Are you working with a travel agent?

Answer

We have recruited the wonderful services of Slyvia Thomas, with Morris Murdock Travel, to work with our guests to arrange travel to Santorini. She will be available to help secure group airfare discounts and other accommodations if requested. If you would like Slyvia's services (and we highly recommend working with a travel agent of her caliber) you can email her directly at sthomas@morrismurdock.com or call her at 801.394.2667 ext 3. Mention that you are traveling with the Thacker wedding party and she will take it from there.

Question

Do you have any hotel recommendations?

Answer

Santorini is consistently listed as one of the top ten travel destinations in the world so the island is filled with wonderful hotels and Airbnbs for all budgets. You really can't go wrong with any of them, but our personal favorite is a cave hotel with a cave pool attached to the room. The secret is out so they book quickly!

Question

Is there parking for the ceremony and reception?

Answer

For guests traveling to Santorini, there is a small parking area at the Santorini Gem venue: https://goo.gl/maps/VEXBpCo6R3MLkvK98, but if you're planning to consume alcohol then we recommend taking the complimentary coach back to your place of stay. For guests attending the Utah after-party reception in April, there is ample parking at the Le Jardin venue.

Question

Is there transportation to and from the hotels to the ceremony?

Answer

Two English-speaking coordinators will be available on the day of the wedding to provide guest transportation to and from the venue for guests that request the service.

Question

Are there any other events that I should know about around the wedding?

Answer

October 9, 2022: Welcome dinner cruise for guests traveling to Santorini. April 22, 2023: After-party reception celebration in Utah.

Question

Are guest accommodations covered in Santorini?

Answer

Guests are traditionally expected to cover their personal lodging and transportation expenses, but we have worked hard to make your stay as easy and enjoyable as possible. Please visit the Travel page for helpful information on flights, transportation, and accommodation. In addition, please check out the following for discounts and recommendations: For group discounts on airfare, please see FAQ "Are you working with a travel agent?" For hotel recommendations and discounts, please see FAQ "Do you have any hotel recommendations?" For suggested activities, please see the Things To Do page. To thank our traveling guests, the welcome dinner cruise, reception dinner, wedding night drinks, and entertainment will be our treat. Cheers!
