Looking for something free to do? Balboa Park is filled with some incredible MUST SEE spots. Historical housing, a large historical amphitheater, water works like fountains and and koi ponds, and a newly built botanical garden. Balboa is bursting with culture with its EIGHTEEN (18), YES EIGHTEEN museums, and its one-of-a-kind Japanese Friendship Garden. When we first started dating, fun days usually included something at Balboa :) The park is very close to the San Diego Zoo.
The San Diego Zoo is one of the most important and widely supported pieces of San Diego culture. It boasts 4,000+ animals, with endless exhibits and opportunities for everyone to see their favorite animal. The SD Zoo is also regarded as one of the best Veterinary Hospitals in the world. Kristine's favorite animal is the Red Panda, and Nathan's is the Binturong, although they are seasonally available for viewing due to their care regimen. The Zoo is very close to Balboa Park.

Feeling a bit winey? Head to San Diegos "wine country" with incredible winery's lined all around this area. Europa offers a passport book tasting where you can sample wines from France, Spain and Italy. Europa Village is north of our venue (away from downtown san diego)
This Aquarium is the perfect size for a 2-3 hour visit, complete with gorgeous views of the ocean and recently updated exhibit. Easy to fit in your visit! The Birch Aquarium is near La Jolla, and close-ish to Duke's.
This monument is on a piece of land that extends far into the ocean, with a historical light house and incredible views of San Diego. It is on the same land as the tidepools, so if you feel like getting your feet wet (but not swimming) go explore this spot! The Cabrillo National Monument is close to the OB Noodle House.
DO NOT SLEEP ON THE OB NOODLE HOUSE! If you enjoy noodles and Asian inspired cuisine, you will not be disappointed by this hole-in-the wall spot. If it's on their menu, its good. (NOTE THE ADDRESS WE LINKED, AS THERE ARE TWO)
