In the fall semester of 2018, amidst the busiest time of year at the University of Tampa, destiny took a subtle turn. Kalista found herself engrossed in her film and new media class, when suddenly, a gentle knock at the door echoed through the room. With a curious smile, she rose from her seat, as she got up to answer the door. As the door swung open, she met the gaze of a newcomer, a hint of bewilderment flashing in his eyes as he struggled with his keycard which wasn’t working with the scanner on the door. Without hesitation, Kalista stepped forward, extending a helping hand to welcome him. He took his seat in the empty chair beside her and said “Hey I’m Nick, what’s your name?”. Little did she know, this simple act would change the course of her life forever. In the weeks that followed, their bond flourished and as each passing day brought them closer, it wasn't until they found themselves partnered on a group project that the full extent of their connection became clear. Collaborating effortlessly, their ideas melded seamlessly, fueling a creative synergy which shocked both of them at the time. It was in those moments of collaboration that they realized they were not just partners in academia, but partners in life. Now, standing on the threshold of a new chapter, Kalista and Nick are ready to embark on the greatest adventure of all: marriage. For in each other, they have found not only love but also a kindred spirit with whom to share life's joys and sorrows, its triumphs and challenges.
