We met in Hyattsville, Maryland during a pub trivia night. Chris impressed Kali with his incredible NASA-honed knowledge of the solar system by guessing that Mars was the next biggest planet after Earth, when she knew it was Venus. Our first date was in Greenbelt at the Green Man Festival on May 11, 2019. We moved in together right before the first Covid lockdown, during which we honed our pizza baking skills together. We also saved the world from pandemics multiple times... in a board game! When not saving the world, we enjoy discussing each other's work - somehow, there's always more to discover with the heat equation. We moved from the swamp to the desert, and now we commute (with our cat) between 2 apartments in California.
