Kali and Brandon met how most millennials do nowadays - online, however the kicker? They met during the height of the pandemic. At the beginning Brandon nicely asked Kali to go for a walk and she nicely declined until she knew he was not a serial killer. They finally went on their first date in May 2020, up in The Domain (north Austin) at a restaurant they still frequent quite often! They finished the evening with one more drink and a lot of conversation. It's also rumored Kali may have even hit her head on her apartment door when Brandon asked for a kiss.

Kali and Brandon traveled to Fredericksburg that day, and for those of you that aren't familiar; Fredericksburg is Texas wine country so naturally it's one of Kali's favorite places to visit. They had a wine pickup at one of the wineries they are club members of and after Brandon had suggested they stop at Alstadt Brewery up the road. Alstadt serves German-style beers and has beautiful architecture with a charming courtyard in the back. The Cowboys were on that day so Kali assumed Brandon would want to stay inside to watch the game but "...no that's okay they're winning" so they ventured outside to enjoy their drinks. It was shortly after that Brandon recommended they walk around the grounds a bit and where he got down on one knee. Brandon being a smart man had one of their closest friends capture the moment on camera. Kali wishes she could get engaged every day! A special chapter in their story together.
