Kaley and Dan met at speed dating in May of 2024. It actually does work! It was good timing as it turns out Dan lived in Pickerington, 10 minutes from Kaley's Mom and they had no idea and likely wouldn't have met. But Dan moved into the city to try to meet the woman of his dreams (enter Kaley). Kaley went to speed dating to also try to find the man of her dreams, with a friend and relationship expert Nikki Anarado, with a list of questions to ask, ideas of what to look for, and Nikki's expert observation skills. She wasn't messing around. And before they even sat down to talk, they were each other's first match of the night, they spotted each other from across the room and knew there was an instant connection. Their first date was at a sushi restaurant, thank goodness because if Dan didn't like sushi that wouldn't have worked out. They spent their first few dates going to parks, getting ice cream, just talking and getting to know one another. One conversation after another led deeper into each other's lives and the realization that this could be a real deal situation. Their first trip together was out to LA that September to meet Kaley's twin sister. It was a great time. Rachel and Dan had so much in common in the film industry that Dan joked that part of why Kaley liked him was because he had similarities to Rachel. Dan and Kaley spent the rest of the year meeting family and going on adventures. They spent their first Christmas together that year and the relationship grew even deeper. In January, discussions of marriage first began and they went ring shopping. In the Spring they went on a road trip to St. Louis. Then in the summer, Dan met Kaley in Italy at the end of of her family cruise and they spent a week and a half together traveling Italy, Czech Republic, (and unexpectedly due to flight issues) England and Ireland. At the end of the trip, Dan shared with Kaley that it might be time to make a phone call to her dad. Three weeks later on August 15th 2025, a few days after Kaley's birthday, Dan took her to their favorite park where they first kissed and got down on one knee. It was a whirlwind of an evening as a professional photographer, not hired, came out of nowhere shooting senior photos and got in the moment engagement shots of Dan putting the ring on Kaleys finger. It was a cherished gift from God to have the moment documented. The two relished in the excitement of the moment before running off to Kohls to get clothes for the Norris family photo shoot that Kaley was officially part of now. The celebrations with family continued and the wedding planning began. We are so excited to celebrate with all of you just over one year later after we committed to a life time of love.
