A very quick walk to a gorgeous waterfall in Pisgah National Forest. If you head out to Brevard check out Oscar Blues Brewery and Pisgah Bakehouse. Both have great food.

Excellent Indian food, multi-time James Beard award winner! There is usually a wait, so go early, put your name in, then walk a block to Antidote for a cocktail while you wait.

A beautiful hike that transcends you into what resembles the Scottish Highlands. After hiking up to Black Balsam, travel back down to your car and drive to the next lot down the road. You can then hike one of our other favorites, Sam's Knob. Both hikes are fairly short but do have incline for most of the hike. Fun Fact: Black Balsam is where we first told each other "I love you." <3
This is where Dan proposed! If you are coming from Central/East NC, Linville Gorge is about a 1hr detour north of I-40. Breathtaking views can be found at Wiseman's View (easily accessible by car) or for a quick hike you can take Wolfpit Trailhead to get a view from the side of Shortoff Mountain!
A beautiful flat hike, there is also a lovely meadow to enjoy after for a picnic lunch.
