We met in Philadelphia in the time of Covid. Our first few dates were socially distanced walks and meetups in the few restaurants open. We saw each other way more than Dr. Fauci would have recommended for people who had just met. It was going well, but in the spring of 2021, Bishara had planned on leaving his job at a lucrative investment banking firm in Philadelphia to head back home to Haifa, Israel and reconnect with his friends and family, whom he had not connected with for ten years. The plan was to return to Philadelphia in the summer of 2021 and do a road trip across the US with Kaley, but visa problems kept him in Israel. So Kaley decided to spend the summer of 2021 and go to him. But Israel closed its borders due to the pandemic. Without being able to get to either one's home country, Kaley and Bishara decided to rendezvous in Europe. They visited friends, and spent time alone mountain biking and hiking the Alps. As they parted that summer, they didn't know when they would see each other again. It wasn't until the following winter that Bishara was able to make it to Philadelphia. Kaley agreed to spend the summer of 2022 in Israel with him, and after a few months there, Bishara came across a wonderful job opportunity in Denver, Colorado. So..... Bishara is currently still in Israel but waiting for final visa approval to come back to the US, where he will start his job in Denver, Colorado with an investment banking firm. Kaley is super excited to join him, but needs to finish up her coursework at the University of Pennsylvania, where she is in the middle of a PhD in medieval Arabic history and literature. Once she completes her final set of exams, she will join Bishara in Denver permanently, hopefully around late Spring of 2023. In the meantime, Kaley and Bishara will be going back and forth visiting each other in Philly and Colorado. To that end, we are doing a small private elopement in Colorado in the fall of 2022, followed by a short stateside reception in Lititz, PA in early November. Then, we will be celebrating with a series of wedding events in Israel in late May of 2023, and we may even manage a cocktail send-off with our friends in Philadelphia shortly before we leave the city! We welcome everyone to join us for the PA reception and our Israeli celebration destination, so we have included details about all of the major events. Of course, we realize that travel is difficult, but we are here to help and answer questions for those interested in joining us abroad, or able to make it to the PA reception!
