Things To Do

Whether you're looking for great food or a little adventure, here are a few of our favorite places and things to check out around Half Moon Bay during your visit. If you're interested in exploring beyond Half Moon Bay, we also have plenty of recommendations for great food, activities, and spots to see throughout the Bay Area. Feel free to text Kaley or PJ if you'd like more ideas!

Sam's Chowder House

4210 California 1, Half Moon Bay, CA 94019

We highly recommend Sam’s Chowder House for its incredible fresh seafood, relaxed coastal vibe, and one of the best oceanfront views in Half Moon Bay. It’s the perfect spot to grab a famous lobster roll, watch the waves, and soak in the classic California coast experience.

Barbara's Fishtrap

281 Capistrano Road, Half Moon Bay, CA 94019

Barbara’s Fishtrap is a Half Moon Bay classic and a little more casual and rustic than Sam’s (think fried seafood baskets, chowder, and a laid-back harbor shack vibe). It’s the perfect spot if you want a true local seafood experience right by the water.

Half Moon Bay Brewing Company

390 Capistrano Road, Half Moon Bay, CA 94019

Half Moon Bay Brewing Co. is one of our favorite local spots! Fun fact: our venue is owned by them, so you’ll actually be enjoying their beer at the wedding! If you have time, we definitely recommend stopping by for great food, house-brewed beer, and beautiful harbor views.

Half Moon Bay Coastal Trail

Half Moon Bay Coastal Trail, Half Moon Bay, CA 94019

Half Moon Bay Coastal Trail – One of the most beautiful ways to experience the coast, this scenic oceanfront trail is perfect for a walk, bike ride, or sunset stroll with incredible Pacific views. We personally love walking this trail with our dogs on Sunday mornings. It's easily one of our favorite weekly traditions. There are many access points along the trail, so you can easily make it a quick stroll or a longer coastal walk.

Main Street

Main Street, Half Moon Bay, CA 94019

Downtown Half Moon Bay (Main Street) – A charming little downtown area filled with local shops, coffee spots, and small restaurants that’s perfect for a relaxed stroll. It’s a great place to grab a coffee, browse a few boutiques, and enjoy the classic small-town coastal feel.
