Our story began on the very first day of college at Palomar College in 2019. While walking up the stairs to resolve a scheduling conflict, I caught a glimpse of Kalen passing by with a group of mutual friends. I came over to say hello, partly to greet my friends, but mostly to introduce myself to the very tall stranger who had instantly caught my attention. We spent the night listening to the new Post Malone album that had released the same night and from that night on, our lives were forever intertwined. For those who did not get to hear our engagement story, here it is! For our 6 year anniversary, we went to Oahu. On October 24th, we had gotten home from a wonderful day of swimming and relaxing at Lanikai Beach and came back to the hotel to get ready for dinner. After getting ready, Kalen started driving us down the coast and we ended up at Waiʻalae Beach Park with the whole place to ourselves. We walked down onto the empty sand and as we did, it started raining and rainbows began popping up. We ran around through the rain and by the time we reached near the waterline, we were laughing so hard our cheeks hurt and we were practically drenched. Some may find the rain annoying during their proposal, but to me that was the cherry on top and what made it so memorable since we love the rain. As the rain perfectly stopped and the rainbows came out across the sky, that is when Kalen got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. When asked about the proposal, all I can say is that it felt like something out of a movie scene! We will never forget that day. More than almost seven years later, we’ve built a beautiful life filled with love, laughter, and countless memories. Some may call it silly that we share the same name, once lived on the same street, and even have grandmothers with the same name, but to us, it’s always felt like destiny gently guiding us toward each other. We love you all so much and can't wait to celebrate!
