The Monte Alban pyramids in Oaxaca, Mexico will forever hold a special place in our hearts. We were on our fifth trip to Mexico together traveling around the region of Oaxaca when Erick asked me to marry him. We started the morning by exploring El Árbol del Tule, having breakfast in downtown Oaxaca, and then traveling to Monte Alban in the afternoon. It was a 90+ degree day in Mexico, and not many people were out exploring the pyramids in the middle of the afternoon. We hiked around the ancient ruins for over three hours when we made the final ascent on the tallest pyramid. Not only did Erick almost trip over the last step before reaching the top, but we both were gasping for air by the time we finally made it. We found a shaded stone ledge at the top of the pyramid and took a break. The next moment I looked over and Erick was grabbing something out of his backpack. He pulled out an engagement box and asked me to marry him. I immediately started crying and said yes! Now it is time to celebrate! We're so excited to celebrate our forever with you!
