Cheyne has been like a brother to Kaleb. He had to drive Kaleb around everywhere for 2 years, and in order to repay his debt to him, he gets to be one of Kaleb's groomsmen. The older Kaleb gets, he sees that he and his brother are more similar than he thought.

Shaylee feels like a long time family friend even though she only met Julie Ann in high school. The two have the innate ability to talk for hours in the car about topics ranging from the fastest way to stop bleeding from an axe wound to the creation of the universe. She's swell.
