We’re getting married!

Desiree and Kaleb met the summer they were sixteen, both working their very first jobs at Walmart. It was not the most romantic setting, but it turned out to be the perfect place for their paths to cross. A mutual friend introduced them, and Desiree still remembers thinking Kaleb was way too tall to ever date her. He is 6 feet and she is 5 feet. Kaleb was shy at first and often brought a friend along so conversations would not get awkward. His friend was even there on their very first date. From the very beginning, Kaleb thought Desiree was beautiful and sweet, and she made him feel genuinely happy and loved. Not long after they started talking, Kaleb asked Desiree to be his girlfriend, and from that moment on they were inseparable. They spent nearly every evening together, went to prom side by side, and graduated high school hand in hand. Kaleb says prom felt like a mini wedding, and it was then he realized he could picture Desiree as his wife. He knew he was in love when he could not stop thinking about her and hated being apart. As they grew up, they grew together. Both pursued careers in the beauty industry, Kaleb in barbering and Desiree in esthetics, and eventually got their first apartment together. Around that same time, they adopted their crazy pup, Bubs. Living together made them feel independent and grown up, but more importantly, it deepened their bond as they learned to rely on each other through every season. Kaleb says his favorite thing about their relationship is how comfortable they are just being themselves, and how Desiree has become a mini version of him in the best possible way. Years later, on their very first trip alone together to Lincoln City, Oregon, Kaleb proposed. They had saved up just enough to make the trip happen, and it felt magical from the start. The ocean views, the hikes, and the perfect weather made it unforgettable. Kaleb was nervous and wanted every detail to feel special for Desiree, even though he already knew her answer would be yes. His favorite memory from the trip was walking along the beach hours after the proposal and watching the sunset together as newly engaged. From high school sweethearts to soon to be newlyweds, from first jobs and first apartments to their crazy pup Bubs, Desiree and Kaleb’s love has grown alongside them every step of the way. They cannot wait to begin their next chapter as husband and wife.
