Michelle had always been the kind of person who threw herself into life with both feet spontaneous trips, last-minute plans, and never passing up a good laugh. But, despite her packed calendar and endless list of activities, she was ready to meet the man God was preparing her for. Her traveling would pay off in a different way one day and her prayers were answered! Our story began in a rather modern way, on a dating app! Isaac was scrolling intentionally through a dating app and stumbled across Michelle’s page with her pictured in Jordan. He sent her a message asking “Is that Jordan?” Michelle’s response came quickly, “It is! How did you know?” Just like that, the conversation kicked off. After some friendly exchanges, we quickly realized we had more in common than they could have imagined. Both passionate about our faith, we bonded over our shared love for the Lord and our desire to live a life grounded in love and purpose. When we met in person, it was clear we had both underestimated the chemistry between us. Our conversations were effortless and full of joy. We spent the evening chatting easily, our conversation flowing like we had known each other for years. By the time the evening ended, neither of us were ready to say goodbye. We were no longer just two outgoing strangers who met on an app we were a team, fueled by the same love for each other, most importantly, the Lord. We often joked about how our story started with a swipe, but deep down, we both knew their connection was anything but casual. It was just the beginning of our next big adventure together. Now, as we stand on the brink of marriage, we’re excited to continue our journey with the Lord at the center of it all. We are so thankful for the gift of finding each other and can't wait to celebrate with you all.
Our proposal story is one of those unforgettable moments that didn’t go according to the original plan, but turned out to be even more special because of it. Isaac had been planning for months and the perfect proposal at Carmel Beach until he got a message from the photographer that there would have been a time conflict. Undeterred, he quickly adjusted, setting up a romantic surprise at Baker Beach in San Francisco. A week later a storm was forecasted to roll into the Bay Area. The chance of rain was very high and Isaac needed to change plans yet again, but this time it was the week of his planned proposal date. Isaac knew the perfect spot. Third times a charm! Michelle had no idea where they were going. Isaac picked her up earlier in the day and told her that they would spend the weekend in Carmel and had a stop on the way. As we got closer to our new location, we could feel the wind picking up and the rain starting to pour down. It seemed like the weather just wasn’t on our side! In the middle of the storm they parked their car by the lake. Isaac asked Michelle to join him on a quick stroll in the middle of the storm and it left her wondering why would they walk outside. The rain was in full force, but something about the storm made it feel even more intimate. Walking along the lake, Isaac mentioned to Michelle how Foster City was where they had lunch after asking her to be his girlfriend. They were getting closer to a gazebo and from a distance a flash went off. The photographer was hiding out and the flash gave Michelle a good idea of what was coming next. As they walked over, their favorite song Thank God by Kane Brown began playing on the speakers and Isaac took off his jacket and grabbed the wooden box with the ring it. They walked down the red carpet together to the flor arch with the "Will You Marry Me?" sign. With the rain tapping softly on the roof of the gazebo and the world around us feeling calm, Isaac got down on one knee and asked Michelle to spend forever with him. It was perfect in its own unexpected way just the two of us, sheltered from the storm, making one of the biggest promises of our lives. It became a moment we’ll always cherish. Proof that love is strongest when you can embrace the unexpected.
