Breanna is Kalah's oldest friend from her childhood. They grew up two houses apart and could be found bouncing between houses, the lake, and the sled hill. Breanna owns and manages floral design at Milwood Florist in Susanville as a third generation florist! You can thank her for the flowers later! Bre says, "Kalah and I became instant friends at 4 years old after she realized that my house wasn't haunted. We've seen each other through every stage of life, from our first job together to becoming Aunt Bre when Ali was born. I couldn't be happier for the beautiful family and life that Kalah and Jason have created together."

Jordan is Jason's best friend, brother, and biggest supporter. Many years of friendship, house parties, late nights, and fires. Jordo housed us, fed us, kept our heads above water, and helped us get to where we are today. We are forever grateful to you brother!

Kalah's oldest sister and forever best friend. They have always been close and have spent a lot of time together, working, raising babies, and living the lake life. Sadie and her family are a special part of our lives and we are so grateful to have them so close. Sadie says, "As the oldest of three sisters, and Kalah the youngest, I have had a front row seat to watch her become the person she is today. She has grown from a happy, curly-haired little girl who was always smiling, singing, and dancing (at least that’s how I remember her) into a smart, good-natured, and compassionate woman, mother, and friend. I think what we all want for ourselves, and for those we care about, is to be seen, heard, supported, and loved, and Jason has that covered for my baby sister. We have all loved him from the start, and he has been “Uncle Jason” to my kids for years. So, to J and KK: keep having fun together, exploring your passions, raising beautiful babies, and beyond all, keep showing up to support each other every day. Matt is Jason’s best outdoor buddy. They worked together for years, and both love dirt and snow. Matt always keeps us dancing, he's always up for an adventure, and loves to go big in all aspects of his life. Matt says, “I could tell a couple stories about some late night shenanigans or I could tell tales of the awesome mountain bike rides that all start with some hilarious movie quote. But the reason I love Jason is because of his devotion to his family and friends. He shows up when you need him. Without question and often when not even asked, like his intuition is a guide for those who need his help. Last year, the porch of my house was covered in boxes and furniture that needed moving. I had been so busy, that calling a friend for help completely slipped my mind. I sat there stressing because of my lack of solutions and then my phone rang, it was Jason. “Lets ride, dude!” Jason says with excitement from being released from some shitty fire somewhere. “I can't man.” I mumble, “I gotta get this crap out of this house.” 20 minutes later, Jason showed up and helped me move for the rest of his day off. This may not sound overly amazing to you but to me, it was everything. I love you like a brother Bates and I hope you know how much you mean to me. You are better with Kalah by your side and I look forward to growing with your beautiful family. I hope to be able to emulate the depth of kindness that your soul emits everyday brother. Jacq was the first real friend Kalah made in Quincy. They met through the boys and instantly hit it off. Bonding over morel mushrooms and wild onions, they have been through a lot together and there will be more to come!

Nolan and Jason are old friends from way back when. Lots of long nights, laughs, and memories. Nolan is hilarious, full of life and always keeps everyone laughing. We've had some pretty memorable moments in his presence, like Kalah trying to ice skate in Ashland, brewery hopping in Bend, or shredding the ski bowl at Johnsville. Nolan says, "My favorite memory of Jason is the late night / early morning walks from Greenville to Indian Falls."

Brando and Jason have worked together and been friends for a long time. He's the life of the party and is always has witty comebacks in his back pocket. Brando says, "If you're reading this, I can guarantee that Jason and K have turned from co-worker/friend, to family... I wont say "Lover" because I know that's reserved for me and Jason"

Collin is Jason's closest friend from high school. Some of Jason's fondest memories are their days together living in Chico after high school. They started their fire careers together in 2005 and they have stayed close while life tried to keep them apart. We're so happy to have Collin and his family here with us to celebrate this day.

Birdy, Kalah, and Jason lived together in Greenville for a few years and he is officially considered the best roommate ever. When our youngest, Jimmy, was in the NICU for a month, Kyle and his wife Sierra graciously took us in and housed us for the month in Reno while Jimmy was getting treatment.

Scotty was there on the first date and has been a great friend to both Jason and Kalah for a long time. Scotty always knows how to have a good time, will debate you over anything worth debating, and will always bring you burritos when you're stuck in the hospital.
