Kala and Dillon met while they were working for Dells Boat Tours. Kala was a pilot and Dillon worked at the concession stand on one of the tour stops. One day Kala volunteered to take the walk through the stop and started talking with Dillon. Soon Kala was volunteering to take the walk more often and over those 20 minute stops they became good friends. Before long they were hanging out outside of work, and going on dates. They continued their relationship long distance, with Dillon residing in Stevens Point and Kala in Madison. After 4 years Dillon made the move to Madison. They now happily reside in their own home on the north-side of Madison with their dog and two cats.
While attending a game night, Dillon was being teased for waiting so long to propose. He acted confident telling everyone he had a plan all worked out, and it was already in motion. Kala did not quite believe this, and also teased him. He again acted confident and told her to ask a friend for proof. Forgetting she had his phone, she opened up the messaging app to ask. Well to her surprise (and his triumph) there was his big plan. Ooops. That night when they got home he proposed in their house. Since he didn't have the ring yet he used a decorative pumpkin to seal the deal. For those wondering - the original plan was to propose while they were on a vacation in Japan. Dillon wants everyone to know there was indeed a plan and that it was a really good one. Kala preferred the proposal at their home, but concedes this was also a good plan.
After 11 years we finally are able to celebrate! We are so happy and thankful that we can share this day with you.
