Mindy's perspective: I moved from China to Minnesota to study my Master degree in September 2017. By God's grace, I believed in God during my graduate school and then got an job after graduation. While living in Minnesota have sweet memories, I experienced many struggles in work and living as minority. I experienced a car incident in January 2025 and it probably the first time that I realized I do need a life partner as I can not do everything alone after stayed single for over 6 years. After visiting my family in China in Feburary 2025, I decided to make some changes in my life. I want to move to Bay area or directly move to China. My heart was towards moving to China to reunion with my parents as I am the only child. While I was packing and cleaning in my house in Minnesota in May, I was broke down several times and even even angry with God that I will date some guys in bay area who are not chrsitians. Before moving out of the states, I took a time off from work and decided to go to Seattle for a trip with my friend. Her boyfriend also from Bay area knew Kaiwen who was a Phd student in UC Berkeley, and was interned in Seattle during that summer so he asked Kaiwen if he wanted to come together for this trip.
