Question

How long does the gondola ride take? When should I plan to arrive before the ceremony?

Answer

The gondola takes 10 minutes from the base of the mountain at Gondola Square to the Thunderhead Lodge. Plan to board the gondola by 2:10pm to ensure you are seated on time. Please be sure to account for the time to park and walk to the Gondola Square. (5-10min) Water and restrooms are available at Thunderhead Lodge.

What's the weather plan?

We plan to proceed, rain/snow or shine! We purchased some umbrellas that will be available at the top of the gondola for use during the ceremony if needed.

Is there public transportation?

Answer

Yes! Steamboat Springs offers FREE public transportation. With bus stops all over town, this is a great option for getting between the welcome event, as well as the ceremony and reception. Where should I park for the Welcome Event?

Parking for the Yampa River Botanic Park is available via the Emerald Park parking lot. Emerald Park, 900 Pamela Ln, Steamboat Springs, CO 80487 The Yampa River Botanic Park is a two-minute walk from this lot. Yampa River Botanic Park, 1000 Pamela Ln, Steamboat Springs, CO 80487

Where should I park for the ceremony?

Answer

Parking is available in the Gondola Square Parking Garage at a discounted rate of $5 on Saturday, September 21. The garage is labeled as P1 on the map, which is available via the shared Google Drive link below. After parking, go to one of the three kiosks, enter your license plate number, select the event from the product list (option 5 may be needed), and enter access code 9096. The code is valid for parking all day Saturday until noon on Sunday. There is a 30-minute grace period after entering the garage before a citation is issued. Parking outside the valid time frame or not following the procedure may result in a ticket. Where should I park for the reception?

Answer

There is on street parking near the social club, and several lots within walking distance. Keep in mind if you arrive before 4pm, parking on Lincoln Ave and between Lincoln and the alley has a 2 hour time limit until 6pm. Parking between the alley and the river has a 3 hour limit until 6pm. There is no parking restrictions overnight or on Sundays on the side streets or lots.
