Looking back at our story, it’s apparent the butterfly effect must have some truth to it. The year was 2018. Kaity was in her sophomore year of college at OSU main campus. Alex was in his freshman year at Western Michigan University. So how did 2 people, living 4.5 hours away from each other meet and fall in love? Well, Alex was visiting OSU during his spring break. Of all the thousands of people on campus, these 2 crazy kids happened to meet. They set up a date for breakfast at Morrill Tower. On her walk over, Kaity almost turned around, but something was telling her this date was going to be different and to keep going. They hit it off instantly! Following breakfast, Alex made the trip back to Michigan. They both couldn’t keep each other off the other’s mind, and kept talking. They Skyped whenever they could: doing study dates, movie nights, and even just chatting about their days. We endured about a year and a half of long distance with many trips between schools. Eventually Alex transferred, we moved in together, and the rest is history. We both were blessed to have gotten jobs here in Columbus; where we joke is it’s the “in between” of Cleveland and Detroit. Our lives have grown and molded together so seamlessly throughout the years. Nowadays, we enjoy walking our dog Indie, going to crew games, travelling, and taking walks in the many parks Ohio has to offer.
