The Nikah is the Islamic marriage ceremony. Similar to a church wedding, it is sacred and centered on faith. We kindly ask all guests to dress modestly for the Nikah ceremony in respect of Islamic values as this is a religious ceremony being held at the mosque. For women this includes long sleeves, floor-length attire, and fully covered necklines. For men, formal attire with appropriate coverage. Guests are welcome to wear Western or South Asian formal attire to the events. Please see the attire section on the website for inspiration. Yes! There will be dancing at the wedding reception, which is a special fusion of our cultures. To honor Islamic values, dancing will be women-only and will take place toward the end of the evening at the reception. During this time, men will have a separate designated area to relax, socialize and continue the celebration!
