Have a question? We probably have an answer.....
Question

How soon should I book travel?

Answer

ASAP! Our wedding is the same weekend as the Newport Folk Fest, so hotels and Airbnbs are booking up fast. If you are having any issues, please let us know and we can help you find a place that works for you.

Question

Why the F*@k! would you book your wedding the same weekend as Folk Fest?!

Answer

Ok our bad on that one, guys. Apparently the couple that had originally booked for 7/23/22 had a torrid love affair (or just changed their minds) and canceled their date, leaving us with the opportunity to swoop in and steal their spot. We had no idea that the date just so happened to be during the busiest time of Newport travel season. We take the blame for that one. Hopefully we can make up for it with copious amounts of alcohol and good food.

Question

What's the dress code? We getting fancy or what?

Answer

Feel free to wear whatever makes you feel most comfortable! While long dresses and nice suits are a bonus, feel free to wear cocktail attire if it suits you better. We understand it will likely be a hot day in July, so shorter dresses are completely fine. Just steer clear from wearing white or gold, if possible.

Question

How early should I arrive?

Answer

The ceremony starts at promptly 6:00 pm, so please plan to arrive by 5:45 pm. The ceremony will be held on the great lawn followed by a cocktail hour on the terrance. The reception will be held in the grand ballroom. And yes, it is air conditioned ;)

Question

What's the plan for the weekend?

Answer

While we would LOVE to have everyone for the entire weekend, we completely understand if guests can only come for the wedding on Saturday. However, if you are able to come for the weekend, we do have a welcome party at The Stone Acre Garden (151 Swinburne Row, Newport, RI 02840) on Friday evening starting at 5. Feel free to come on by for some food, drinks, and games! And on Sunday, feel free to check out Folk Fest or the other fun happenings in town.

Question

You keep mentioning the Newport Folk Fest, what the heck is that??

Answer

Excellent question. Newport Folk Festival is an annual American folk-oriented music festival in Newport, Rhode Island, which began in 1959 as a counterpart to the Newport Jazz Festival. It was one of the first modern music festivals in America, and remains a focal point in the expanding genre of folk music. Do we know what Folk music is exactly? Nope. But seems fun! Check out more here: https://newportfolk.org

Question

Are you providing transportation?

Answer

Yes! We will have a bus to shuttle guests for the wedding. We will be doing several rounds of pick ups from various places in Newport/surrounding areas. Stay tuned for further details.

Question

We would love to come but housing seems expensive, how can we make this work?

Answer

Don't worry! We consider your presence a gift enough so in lieu of wedding presents we would love you to be our guest. Our main priority is having a good time with the people we love most. If you have concerns about housing/hotels, feel free to reach out to us and we can try to connect you with accommodations.

Question

Ummm what's with you guys getting married in a museum?

Answer

The Rosecliff is a Gilded Age mansion and yes, it is open to the public as a historic house museum. But don't worry, it's fun too! There is one room that will be off limits to guests, but it does provide a little view into what life was like way back when. The rest of the mansion, and grounds, are ours to party.

Question

Can I bring my kids?

Answer

Unfortunately, we are having a child free wedding at this time. Please don't hesitate to reach out to us if you have any questions.

Question

What are you going to do in case of a zombie apocalypse (or COVID)?

Answer

Great question! In the event that COVID gets worse, we will reconsider our wedding plans. Our top priority is ensuring the safety of all of our guests. We are both currently vaccinated and we encourage those attending to be as safe as possible. And in the case of a zombie apocalypse....every man for themselves!

For all the days along the way
