We both grew up showing at the Medina County Fair, so we had always known of each other. After we both aged out of 4-H, life moved on and time passed. Then, one December Saturday, he stopped into our family store — something he later told me he almost didn’t do. I happened to be working that day, and my sister asked him if he would be willing to be my dance partner sometime because we go square dancing and I did not have a partner. He said it would be fun, thinking it would be nothing more than just dancing. Three days later, he messaged me on Facebook. I almost didn’t respond. But I decided to text him back — and that simple decision changed everything. We started talking, and before long, he asked me on a date — hot chocolate and Christmas lights. Simple, sweet, and perfect. Later on, I found out that in the middle of that first date, he texted his friend and said that it was the best decision. The next time I saw my sister, I told her that I really liked him. He was such a gentleman and very cute! From there, it was a done deal. We started spending almost every day together, working on renovating his house (little did we know, it would one day be our house) and on January 2, 2026, we officially became a couple. We have been inseparable ever since. We never would have expected this or even imagined it when we were younger. But it has been the best thing that has ever happened to us, and I truly have never been happier. We can’t wait to begin this next journey together — as best friends and forever partners.
