About Us

Kaitlyn and Tanner met in March of 2019 while both were attending the University of Kentucky. Both having busy schedules between dance and baseball, most of their early dates were spent hanging out and watching movies. They took a lot of time before making their relationship official, when Kaitlyn finally decided to ask Tanner out in October of 2019. That very same night when Tanner walked Kaitlyn out to her car, they found that it was towed away from his apartment parking lot. Five months later, the world shut down. UK students were going away for spring break not knowing if they would be going back to school at all. It was the thought of being separated by 730 miles between Richmond, Kentucky and Manhattan, Kansas that led Kaitlyn and Tanner to decide to quarantine in Lexington and really get to know each other. In the years since, they have endured long distance with moving all around between Kentucky, Ohio, Indiana, Illinois, Florida, and Missouri. Now, they both love calling Kansas City home and enjoy traveling, spending time with family, staying busy with work and spending cozy nights at home with their goldendoodle Nala Louise!

Our Proposal

Kaitlyn and Tanner took their first cruise together in June of 2023. Their first stop was to Nassau, Bahamas! After debarking from the ship, they took a short catamaran cruise to the private island. The first thing on the to do list for the day was swimming with dolphins! They first needed to put all of our extra belongings into the lockers (which by the way, did not actually lock). Tanner strategically picked a seat around the dolphin pool to keep his eyes on the locker, which at the time was holding the ring! After the excursion it was time for lunch! They sat under the cabana to eat while they waited for the rain storm to pass. After the skies cleared, they found a couple of beach chairs to relax and enjoy the Caribbean views. Tanner insisted on taking a photo with the beautiful view where no one was in the background. As he passed the camera on to a stranger, he quickly and quietly explained what was about to happen and asked them to take a video. To Kaitlyn's surprise, Tanner dropped to his knee and asked her to marry him! The rest is history!
