It was a Monday night. A late 9:40 game. Freezing cold. But soccer is life right? So I went. This team was brand new so I didn't know anyone on it, what field we were playing on. I barely knew what color to wear. I walk up to my teammates feeling timid, shy, and very cold. We were all bundled up from head to toe, so really you could only see my eyes. Scott openly admits his first thought was, "who is this small girl all bundled up?" I was quiet and truly was only thinking about the warmth in my car in a quick hour. As the game is about to start, Scott looks at me and "jokingly" says, "you better not disappoint." No pressure right? Now I am cold and nervous.. but who knew that his good looks and sarcastic comments would result in me scoring a hat trick (3 goals) that night- and let me just reassure you that never happens. Immediately after scoring the third goal from Scott's assist, he said, jokingly again, "you're scoring your way right into my heart." Although he was kidding at the time, I thought it was pretty cute. Turns out, I made the cut on the team, he picked me up on his Sunday team, and I ended up scoring my way into his heart.
