Our Story

If you want the short story- we met in college at the University of Toledo..... but if you have a few minutes for the long story- it's a pretty good one! As we both entered our freshmen years at the University of Toledo, we both decided to join greek life. Ryan was a member of Phi Kappa Psi and I was a member of Delta Delta Delta. The very first sorority event I went to as a member of Delta Delta Delta was a bid dinner to celebrate the new members of each organization. At this dinner, the new members of each organization were paired together with a “date" for the evening. This was a way for new members to meet. Now, if this was a cute, romantic love story, of course I would have been paired with Ryan and the rest would be history. But, I ended up being paired with Ryan's best friend and coincidentally, my best friend was paired with Ryan. We all hung out the rest of the night getting to know each other and sharing laughs. Ryan and I would occasionally see each other on campus or at greek life events, but nothing came about that freshmen year. We both were busy throughout college focusing on nursing school and internships. As senior year rolled around, our paths began to cross much more frequently. We were both busy with school and preparing for graduation that starting a relationship wasn't what either of us envisioned, yet we couldn't stay away from one another. I graduated in December of 2019 and began my career as a nurse at a local hospital while Ryan finished his senior year. Then, everything changed when COVID hit. Ryan moved home from college early with his a job lined up in California. We weren't sure when we would see each other again. Focusing on our careers and ourselves we got through several tough months, texting and calling each other every chance we got. In June 2020, I made my first of what would be many trips to see Ryan in California. It was like nothing had changed between the two of us. For a year and a half, we did long distance across the country during a pandemic. We fell in love with each other and California. Ultimately, the distance was too much and we both decided to make the move to Columbus, our now home! We’ve lived in Columbus for the past 3 years and just recently purchased our first home together. In July 2024, Ryan asked me to marry him after months of having the ring and hiding it right under my nose. I had no idea he had bought the ring. He had never once asked me what I had wanted in an engagement ring so when he got down on one knee, I was so shocked to see my dream ring. The proposal was such a special day spent with my family and calling all of our friends and family to share the big news! After months of figuring how to celebrate the two of us getting married, we came up with our perfect day and we can't wait to share that with all of you!
