From Passing Notes to Exchanging Wedding Vows

07/13/15-06/13/26

Our story began back in middle school, in art class and English class, where we first noticed each other. Katie thought Ryan was cute and funny, and Ryan was drawn to how kind and fun Katie was. We started as friends, but it didn’t take long for us to realize there was something more. That spark turned into our very first date — at a park — with one condition… Katie’s friend had to come along (thanks, Mom and Dad lol!). That summer between middle school and high school became the beginning of a relationship that has now lasted over a decade. Through high school, we learned who we were as individuals and who we were together. There were sweet moments and challenging ones — like when Ryan broke his ankle and Katie became his personal backpack carrier between classes, or when Katie went through a difficult time junior year and Ryan supported her every step of the way. Those early years taught us what it truly meant to show up for each other. When we were 20, we took our next big leap and moved from our hometown of West Bend to Oshkosh for Ryan’s career. It was exciting, a little scary, and a huge lesson in communication and compromise. Four years later, another opportunity took us to Appleton, where we started searching for a house to call home. Every move, every change, and every new chapter has only made us stronger — and we’re so excited to now be closing on our home in May 2026, just one month before our wedding. We fill our days with the things we love most: car meets, hiking, video games, camping, and spending time with friends. Some of our favorite memories involve traveling — from a Disney cruise to the Bahamas, to our yearly tradition of Automotion in the Dells, and cozy nights around the campfire. And yes, we definitely share a love for cars (Ryan’s Camaro being one of our pride and joys). Ryan proposed at one of Katie’s favorite places — Butler Rock in Mountain, Wisconsin — a scenic overlook we had hiked together before. Surrounded by nature and the beauty of a place that already held special memories for us, it was the perfect place to say “yes”. Now, after almost eleven years of laughter, adventures, challenges, and unwavering love, we are so excited to say “I do.” If we had to describe our relationship, we’d call it loyal, adventurous, supportive, and fun. We can’t wait to celebrate with the people who mean the most to us on June 13, 2026. Katie & Ryan
