Katie and Rob first meet at the Lariat in Grand Lake, CO. Katie at the time was in a relationship and Rob asked her to take root beer shots and jump off the bridge naked. She said no. Years later Katie was no longer in that relationship and Rob and Katie connected on the dating app Hinge. Katie remembered her last interaction with Rob and messaged him first. Rob’s friends forced him to reply. Rob started staying with Katie in Fort Collins their first week dating and they have lived together ever since. Rob and Katie are yet to take a root beer shot together.

Rob and Katie got engaged at Sprague Lake in Estes Park, Colorado. There was a moose swimming in the lake and it was sunrise. Rob walked around the lake three times waiting for every breathing soul to leave so it would be private and intimate. He almost dropped the ring in the lake. That morning, they barely made it into the Rocky Mountain National Park without a reservation. They ran out of gas and coasted into Estes Park because the other other stations had been closed. The guy at the gate let them in anyways when they told their story. They celebrated at Murpheys where they had their first date with the same bartender that served them their first date, Lianne.
