Our wedding location is in the 4x4 area of Corolla, about 2.3 miles past the end of the paved road. A true 4-wheel-drive vehicle is required to access the beach house. All-wheel drive is not sufficient.
Before driving onto the beach you'll need to air down your tires (typically to around 15-PSI) to safely drive on the sand. There are public air-down areas near the beach access.
If you don't have a 4WD, several local rental companies offer 4x4 equipped SUVs and trucks specifically for beach driving in Corolla. We strongly recommend reserving early, as availability can be limited.
To make things easier we highly encourage carpooling. If you're traveling with friends or family who have a 4WD vehicle, sharing a ride is a great option!
Beach driving can take longer than on normal roads, so please plan to arrive with extra time to ensure a smooth and stress free arrival.
