Kaitlyn and Mitch got engaged on May 23, 2025. They had planned a last minute camping trip to the Needles District in Canyonlands National Park for Memorial Day weekend. Saturday morning, they hit the the road keeping their fingers crossed that they could secure one of the first-come first-serve campsites near the park despite the holiday weekend. To their surprise, the campground was nearly empty! They had their pick of the best spot they could find. They decided on a shady site, an impressive find in the desert, with amazing views in all directions. Both were thrilled (and a little relieved) to snag what felt like the best campsite in the whole park. Just as they started unpacking, Mitch stopped Kaitlyn, dropped to one knee, and asked her to marry him. She said yes and they enjoyed a quiet, off-grid weekend, celebrating their newly engaged bliss. Mitch even managed to sneak a bottle of champagne in their cooler for their first toast as fiancés.
Kaitlyn and Mitch met on the first day of their study abroad in Singapore. Mitch went to the University of Wisconsin and Kaitlyn the University of Florida. The spring of 2018 they had both decided to study abroad. They attended Nanyang Technological University and at their orientation happen to be standing near each other. Friend groups formed quickly abroad, so they found themselves hanging out and planning trips together. They also happend to live in the same dorm building so after classes or trips they would walk back together. After spending enough time together and they fell into a "casual" study abroad fling. Now, over 8 years later they are getting married!
