My (Kait) first journal entry read "I don't think I'm attracted to Lachlan, but I love his heart for You, God. I hope I get to know him more." We first met at a Muslim-Christian Dialogue at NYU; Lach thought I was a 26/27-year-old alumni; I thought he was a 19-year-old sophomore. Thankfully, it wasn’t just the age-gap that closed between us; within a couple of months we not only became fast friends but began pursuing what gradually became a “courting relationship leading towards marriage” as Lach would put it. “I am afraid, for no one’s ever sacrificed or loved me this way” has been a song lyric often quoted throughout our courtship. It has been, by far, the sweetest, richest and most refining relationship either of us have had, and has shown us how to love God and love others in ways we never before expected. There is so much else to share (there will always be), and we cannot wait to unveil (ha) many more testimonies to you in June!!
