Despite going to the same school since kindergarten, we didn't meet until our freshman year of high school. We were both fourteen years old. We instantly clicked and became best friends. We were best friends for two years before we started dating, we would tell each other everything and talk every single day. We were as close as can be. At the start of our junior year we started hanging out outside of school, and that's when we grew even closer and started dating. We have now been together almost eight years and will be celebrating our eight year anniversary two days before we get married. We are both so excited to one day tell our kids about how we are high school sweethearts and still the best of friends.

We had gone to the beach in August of 2024. We went with a group of our closest friends to enjoy a week at the beach. I had gone through Johnny's suitcase before we left as I was getting suspicious that Johnny was going to propose. I was disappointed that I did not find the ring in his suitcase but little did I know Johnny had hidden the ring in his brother's suit case because he knew I would go through his bag. It was getting close to our vacation ending and I was upset because Johnny hadn't proposed yet. I had thought a proposal wasn't going to happen because the next day was our last day at the beach. My friends and I had decided we were going to dress up and take pictures on the beach during sunset before we headed to dinner. As we were walking to the beach I started looking in Johnny's pockets to see if I could see an outline of a ring box. I had convinced myself it wasn't going to happen when Johnny's pockets looked empty. As I was taking pictures with my friends, Johnny had gone behind me and got down on one knee. I was extremely shocked as I convinced myself it wasn't going to happen. I was beyond excited and cried the whole time. There was a gorgeous sunset outside and it was such a great night. After Johnny proposed we went out with all of our friends to a steakhouse for dinner and celebrated the rest of the night.
